First Edition, First Printing as indicated by "First Printing" printed on copyright page. One of 1,050 copies issued by the publisher in a signed limited edition. This is copy number 274. A very good hardcover copy, orange cloth boards, orange cloth spine with black, gold, and white lettering. Book is square and solid, spine is tight. Board corners slightly rounded, spine slightly faded. Gilt topstain has relatively minor imperfections. Not ex-library, no previous owner markings, book plates, or remainder marks. Signed by Sinclair Lewis on limitations page in black ink. No dust jacket as issued. Originally issued with onion skin wrapper, that is missing from this copy. Encased in original Random House slipcase that is in good/fair condition. Paper labels on spine are torn, parts missing, top of case along crease cracked and torn, corners bumped, minor damage to bottom case edges.
